What this covers
Attics were built to hold a roof, not a room. A conversion starts by confirming the floor joists can carry living loads and that headroom meets code, then adds proper stairs, insulation and ventilation at the roof, an egress window or skylight, electrical and heating, and the finishes. Skylights and dormers add light and headroom where the roof allows.
When to call

Questions people ask
Can my attic be converted?
If there is enough standing height, the joists can be made strong enough, and a proper stair fits. The feasibility step answers all three before you commit.
Why is insulation different in an attic room?
The roof is now the ceiling, so insulation goes between or above the rafters with a ventilation path to keep the roof deck dry. The company designs this so the room stays comfortable in both seasons.
Do I need a window up there?
A bedroom needs an egress window or skylight large enough to climb through. Any living space benefits from natural light.
