What this covers
A leak shows up as a stain, a drip, a soft floor or a climbing water bill, and the source is often somewhere else. The plumber traces it to a supply line, drain, fixture seal, valve or water heater. The repair depends on the material and the cause: a corroded copper fitting is cut out and a new section sweated or joined with a push-fit or press coupling, a cracked drain is replaced, a worn seal or cartridge is swapped. Careful work means fixing the cause rather than the spot, testing under pressure before the wall is closed, and saying so when the pipe around the leak is failing too.

Questions people ask
Why not just patch the pipe?
Clamps and epoxy are temporary. A proper repair replaces the failed section so the same spot does not open again, and a plumber can tell whether the rest of the line is sound.
Who repairs the wall or cabinet?
The plumber makes a small, square access opening. A drywall or carpentry company closes it, or the same certified company handles both when the leak was part of a water loss.
Does a slow leak matter?
Yes. A slow leak inside a wall or under a floor feeds mold and rots framing long before it is visible. Finding it early keeps the repair small.
