Countertop resurfacing

A new coated finish over sound laminate or tile counters.

What this covers

Resurfacing applies a new finish over an existing laminate or tile counter: a multi-layer stone-look coating, a poured epoxy, or a thin overlay. The counter is cleaned, sanded and repaired, edges and the sink masked, the system applied in layers, and the finish cured before use. It is a cosmetic update for counters that are sound but dated, and it is not as durable as a new slab.

When to call

  • Dated but solid laminate or tile counters.

Questions people ask

How long does a resurfaced counter last?

Years with care. Heat, knives and standing water are the enemies, as with laminate.

Can an undermount sink stay?

The coating is applied around the existing sink. Changing sink type is a replacement job.

Does it look like stone?

Good systems read as stone at a glance. Up close the depth of real stone is not there.
