What this covers
Concrete counters are cast from forms built to the exact layout, with color, aggregate and reinforcement chosen for the look. They can include integral sinks, drainboards and curves. After curing the surface is ground and polished, small voids are filled or left as character, and the counter is sealed. Concrete is porous and heavy, so sealing and cabinet support matter.

Questions people ask
Does concrete stain?
Unsealed, yes. A quality sealer resists most stains; oil and wine should still be wiped promptly. Resealing is periodic.
Will it crack?
Hairline cracks can appear and are part of the material. Reinforcement and proper support keep them cosmetic.
Can I put hot pans on it?
The concrete tolerates heat; the sealer may not. Trivets protect the finish.
