Carpet repair

Patching, re-seaming and re-securing carpet so the room does not need replacing.

What this covers

Carpet repair fixes a damaged area without replacing the whole floor: a burn, a pet stain that went through, a torn edge, a seam that has opened, or a patch where a wall or built-in was removed. The damaged section is cut out and a matching piece from a remnant or a hidden spot such as a closet is seamed in, bonded and blended. Loose edges and seams are re-secured.

When to call

  • A burn, cut, bleach spot or pet-damaged area in otherwise good carpet.
  • A seam that has opened or is fraying.
  • A patch of bare subfloor where a built-in was removed.

Questions people ask

Will the patch show?

With matching carpet and pile direction, a patch in a traffic area is hard to find. In a worn room a new patch may look slightly fresher at first.

What if I have no leftover carpet?

A piece is taken from inside a closet and the closet patched with similar carpet, or a close match is sourced.

Can pet urine damage be repaired?

The carpet can be patched, but the pad and sometimes the subfloor underneath need cleaning or sealing too, which the company checks.
